Twitter?

Now to be fair I HATE social networking sites. Yes I have a presence on MySpace and Facebook as well as a few others I used when dating. I just find them tedious and essentially useless. I don't really want to post pictures for the world to see or all my thoughts for some random idiots to read (opps... like here!)
A few months ago Jenny introduced me to twitter. Twitter is very new and while the name has generated alot of news recently most people don't get it. I personally have found that I love it. But mostly because I found out you can get all kinds of news from it hours before MSM.
I think (and hope) that as it grows it becomes more of a news/communication tool and less of a social networking site. Time will tell on that but here is a blog on Huffington post that proves my point. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/06/13/iran-demonstrations-viole_n_215189.html
The future is about technology... I can't wait!

  1. from the cyberwar guide

"Help cover the bloggers: change your twitter settings so that your location is TEHRAN and your time zone is GMT +3.30. Security forces are hunting for bloggers using location and timezone searches. If we all become ‘Iranians’ it becomes much harder to find them."

wold it help for us to do this even if we are not actually posting anything?
